Mountain Family Academy

A School of Discipleship

Our Mission

Mountain Family Academy is a Christian school of discipleship that focuses on training a child in the way they should go so when they are old they will not depart from it (Prov. 22:6).

Mountain Family Academy (MFA)

is a non-accredited Christian high school that keeps a Biblical worldview front and center throughout every aspect of education. MFA focuses on the path of discipleship, preparing students for the challenges they will face in a fallen world.

MFA’s mission is to aid parents in the Biblically centered education of their child with the belief that parents are the primary instructors in their child’s education and upbringing.

MFA’s expectation is that students will demonstrate personal accountability and motivation to meet requirements and keep Jesus’s command to follow Him.

MFA provides pathways for students to pursue their unique callings through a program that meets basic Montana high school requirements while leaving time for students to fulfill other educational needs by seeking extra-curricular or dual-enrollment opportunities in the community.

Doctrinal Position

We believe that parents have the primary responsibility for educating their children. The church and school’s responsibility is to assist parents, not replace them, in training their children.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deut. 6:4-9

Mountain Family Academy defines discipleship as following Jesus Christ through obedience to His commands including but not limited to: repentance, forgiveness, purity, humility, self-sacrifice, love, charity, and prayer – taking up your cross daily to follow Christ (Matt 5-7).

Mountain Family Academy is a ministry of Mountain Family Fellowship which is associated with International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC).

Is there homework? Students can expect assigned reading and other homework every week.

What grades are offered? Mountain Family Academy accepts student applications for grades 9-12.

Does the school have a dress code? We believe students should always be modestly dressed in accordance with their Christian witness. Clothing should be clean and in good repair without exposed underwear.

Graphics should be in good taste, not promoting ungodly activities or groups. Students should exercise good judgment and ask about questionable clothing options before wearing them to school. Consider others before yourself.

What is your discipline policy? Students are expected to treat themselves and others with respect at all times. That extends to being respectful of maintaining a productive learning environment for others.

The instructor will handle minor issues but ultimately, discipline is the responsibility of the student and their family. High school students are quickly approaching the age of adult accountability.

In order to prepare them for adulthood, MFA expects students to behave as young adults, aspiring to accountability and responsibility for their behavior. Communication is expected. Remaining teachable is essential.

Treating others how you want to be treated is the minimum expectation of Christian disciples. Perfection is not required but a willingness to grow is. Contact us for more specific information on discipline procedures.

Do you have scholarships? The tuition is kept low to make Christian education affordable for all families and is already subsidized by the church hosting this ministry.

If you require additional assistance, you are encouraged to seek it through your home church. Tuition fees must be paid for the upcoming month by the 15th of each month.

What are the requirements for admission? All students, regardless of age, must live with parents or legal guardians. Students attend school voluntarily. The student must demonstrate a personal desire to be a part of the school.

Students and parents are required to regularly attend a local church. Every student needs to have access to a computer at home.

What is the application process? Please contact us via email with any questions you have and to receive a registration packet.

Fill out the application forms after reading the packet. The student(s) must fill out all questions on their form.

After reviewing your application and conducting reference checks, we will contact you to schedule a personal interview. Interviews for the coming year are conducted during the first two weeks of June each year.

We will contact you to let you know your admission status after the end of the interview period.

If you are admitted to and choose to attend Mountain Family Academy, you must submit a records request form to your previous school to avoid truancy.

State law requires a copy of immunization records or a notarized religious exemption on file to attend school. This must be provided by the first day of school attendance.

New students will take placement tests before meeting with parents and the teacher to pick classes for the first year. Book fees must be paid by July 1 to complete the registration process.
