About Us
Every church fulfills a unique purpose in the kingdom of God. Understanding what sets Mountain Family Fellowship apart will help you determine if our church is the best place for you to plant your roots and reach your greatest potential in God’s Kingdom.
We are a family. We’re not a ‘one-man-show’. WE BELIEVE that God sets people into families (Psalm 68:6) for a reason and while that specific reason may differ for everyone, we are all meant to be ministers and servants to each other and our community.
We highly value praise and worship and know that God does too. It is our greatest desire to live unceasingly in the Presence of God.
Our children and youth are a high priority! Seeing their parents or guardians worshiping Jesus can become a life-long inspiration to children. That’s why Mountain Family Fellowship Kids services begin after worship Sunday mornings. Mountain Family also offers Youth Group and Kids classes on Wednesday evenings during our ‘Thrive 101’ adult classes. Our mission is for every member of a family to have the opportunity to connect with others and learn together how to serve Him better.
Mountain Family Fellowship’s small groups have arisen from people wanting to grow deeper in their faith together through community. Our small groups include men’s bible studies, ladies bible studies, young adults groups, prayer groups, fellowship groups, and even groups that get together just to help each other around the home. We encourage small groups and love seeing them interact. We encourage genuine friendships and value hospitality.
You don’t have to be perfect or someone you’re not. Come as you are, come be a part of our family.
What We Believe
WE BELIEVE the Bible is the inspired Word of God to man. Holy men of God wrote the Bible under the guidance, influence and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. God has promised to live in us and guide us in our knowledge of Him by leaving us His anointed and inspired SCRIPTURE. Like a seed, when planted, it will produce the harvest. Every sermon preached is full of His Word to us, helping us to become more like Him. (Psalm 12:6, 119:105, 119:160; Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
WE BELIEVE that there is only one true and living God. He is eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent and is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is everlasting, of infinite power, wisdom and goodness and is the maker and preserver of all things. (Genesis 1:1, 1:26, 1:27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2)
WE BELIEVE in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood not only for sin but for sickness and disease in His bodily resurrection. WE BELIEVE in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. He will return to judge all men at the last day. (Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Acts 1:8-11; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 9:14-15; Isaiah 53:4)
WE BELIEVE there is a filling of the Holy Spirit that is available to every Christian obtained by a cleansed believer who asks for it in faith. Its evidence is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Who’s indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life and is empowered to do the “greater works” that Jesus said we would. WE BELIEVE in the nine gifts of the Spirit and the importance of the fruit of the Spirit which empowers the gifts. He promised to guide us with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit into all truth. (Acts 1:8, 2:4, 2:38; John 14:15-17, 14:26; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Isaiah 11:2; Romans 8:26; Luke 24:49)
WE BELIEVE salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make things right for his sin by self-improvement or good works. It is only through putting our faith in the sacrifice and saving work of Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness that can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Through this justification by faith, we can be ‘born again’ into the Kingdom of God and have a relationship with Him forever. (Romans 3:25, 5:1; Ephesians 2:1-10; Titus 3:5; 1 John 3:5-10)
WE BELIEVE that the Church (the ekklesia) is to influence our world and not the other way around. As Christians, we should be politically involved as citizens of our local government and of our great nation. It is our job to influence society with God’s Kingdom rather than allowing society to influence how we act as Christians. It is our duty to influence our culture and our society in this generation. (Romans 13:1-14; 1 Peter 2:13-17; Titus 3:1; James 1:27; Jeremiah 29:7)
WE BELIEVE in the power of prayer. Jesus said His house was to be a house of prayer. Too many churches spend little to no time praying. Our aim is to honor His house the way He wants us to with constant communication with Him.
(Luke 19:46; Matthew 21:13; Isaiah 56:7)
WE BELIEVE in Divine healing which is a privilege and right appropriated by faith. It was purchased for all believers through Christ’s sacrifice. (Exodus 15:26; Isaiah 53:4-5; Mark 16:14-18; James 5:14-16)
WE BELIEVE in the gifts of the Holy Spirit which are given to believers and are to be used to benefit others. (1 Corinthians 12:7-11)
WE BELIEVE that it is our privilege and responsibility to win in spiritual warfare. Both men and angels have been given a moral choice in the ‘cosmic conflict’ between good (the Kingdom of God) and evil (the Kingdom of Satan). We must battle in an attempt to eliminate the demonic realm from our life and triumph over the Kingdom of Darkness (evil) which will eventually be totally eradicated.
(Ephesians 6:10-18; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8-9; 1 John 4:4; Luke 10:19)
WE BELIEVE that Jesus will return for us and that we will rule and reign with Christ over all of creation in eternity!
(Matthew 24:36-44; Luke 21:25-28; John 5:28-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
WE BELIEVE that sanctification is a lifelong growth in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that begins at salvation and ends at man’s glorification. Sanctification is the life-long process of becoming like Jesus that may include a definite, instantaneous work of grace achieved by faith. (Acts 26:18; 2 Corinthians 4:16; 2 Peter 3:18; 1 John 1:9)
